Embrace it Africa
Embrace it Africa is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that was started by students from St. Bonaventure University. Our team is focused on sustainable economic development in the small village of Bethlehem in Southern Uganda.
Four years ago we began working with a small village in southern Uganda called Bethlehem. In May of
2008, we made our first trip to Africa to begin our projects. This past May, our team made their fifth trip back to the village. We are currently continuing to further develop our programs, implement new projects and build our relationship with the community.
Our focus is the Bethlehem Parent’s School and Orphanage- the heart of the Bethlehem community. We also run a government registered micro-finance program called the Mikwano Savings and Credit Institution. Our newest program, Wekbere, is focused on HIV/AIDS counseling, education and relief efforts with street children and widows groups. Both Your Hands, a local non-profit active in the micro-loan community, connected our team with Bethlehem.
